T-Quest Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 February 2026

1. Introduction

T-Quest ("we", "our", "the app") is an educational learning application designed for children and young people in UK Years 7–10. We take privacy seriously, especially for younger users.

2. Information We Collect

First name only: During onboarding, we ask for the learner's first name to personalise the experience (e.g. "Well done, Tahirah!"). We do not collect surnames, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal identifiers.

Learning progress: Topic completion, quiz scores, stars earned, and streak data are stored locally on the device only. This data never leaves the device.

Crash reports & analytics: We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to understand app stability and which features are used most. These services may collect device type, operating system version, and anonymous usage patterns. No personally identifiable information is sent.

3. Camera & Photos

The app includes a "Solve with Camera" maths feature. When used, the camera captures an image of a maths problem for on-device text recognition only. Images are processed locally and are not uploaded, stored, or shared with any server.

4. Data Storage

All learning data (progress, scores, goals) is stored locally on the device using SharedPreferences. We do not operate user accounts, cloud databases, or remote servers that store personal data.

5. Third-Party Services

6. Children's Privacy

T-Quest is designed for use by children aged 11–16. We do not knowingly collect personal information beyond a first name. We do not display advertisements. We do not include in-app purchases. We comply with applicable child data protection regulations including the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code).

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share any user data with third parties. Anonymous crash and analytics data is processed by Google Firebase under their privacy terms.

8. Data Deletion

All data can be deleted by uninstalling the app from the device. Since all data is stored locally, removing the app removes all data permanently.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
